Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang axed from Dortmund squad over indiscipline

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang left out of Borussia Dortmund's squad to face Stuttgart for disciplinary reasons... so, was it his trip to Barcelona nightclub with his former team-mate Ousmane

Dortmund revealed the news on Twitter in response to a question from a fan, who had asked why Aubameyang was absent from a video of the squad at the airport.

The Bundesliga side replied saying: 'Aubameyang has been removed from the squad for tomorrow's match for disciplinary reasons.'

German newspaper Bild reported that Aubameyang had used his two days off during the international break to take a brief trip to Barcelona.

Aubameyang was visiting former team-mate Ousmane Dembele and went to Barcelona nightclub Shoko with his brother Willy during the trip.

The striker posted a photo of himself on Instagram with Dembele, who he featured alongside last season at Dortmund.

Aubameyang has landed himself in trouble with Dortmund in the past. He was left out of Dortmund's squad to face Sporting Lisbon last season after using his day off to attend a friend's birthday party in Milan ahead of the Champions League tie.

The 28-year-old has made a scintillating start to the season with 15 goals in his first 12 matches including two Bundesliga hat-tricks.
